Clause bonus / malus auto insurance covers
all land motor vehicles. It excludes motorcycles with a cylinder capacity not
exceeding 80 cm3.
The bonus - malus is applied by all
insurance companies because they have the legal obligation. It rewards good
drivers and penalizes drivers with accidents:
Bonus points lower the amount of your
annual premium insurance.
The penalty points are climbing.
Clause bonus - malus listed on your auto
insurance policy has the same function regardless of your insurance company. It
is described in section A121-1 and it’s Annex to the Insurance Code.
The only variants:
The premiums (which is free) multiplied by
your bonus or malus.
Specific cases.

Bonus malus: a single operation for all
insurers
You receive each year before the expiry
date of your auto insurance:
The amount of your contribution reference.
Coefficient of your bonus - malus sometimes
also called coefficient of reduction / increase (CRM).
The insurer multiply your annual
contribution referred by a factor of bonus / malus calculated according to your
claims for the year. This rate increases or decreases your annual premium auto
insurance:
Departure rate (the first subscription): 1.
Each year without accident lowers the rate
of 5%; note that if the year is not complete compared to the anniversary date
of the contract, there must be a minimum of 270 days of actual insurance;
Each accident in which you are liable
increases the rate of 25%.
Your rate of bonus / malus is kept in case
of:
Change of vehicle.
Purchase an additional vehicle (if you
already have other vehicles with rate bonus - malus different, it applies to
the premium for your new vehicle average of the different rates for the
reflection of the overall reality of your loss).
Change insurer.
Suspension of your contract (maximum 2
years - year limitation period).
These four situations are conditioned to
the fact that there is no change in the primary or secondary drivers.
Otherwise, your insurance with you redefine the reality of the risk of the new
situation (especially when the children of the insured, with new permits, begin
to drive).
